Tough Loss With Guest Appearances

The game today was a pretty tough loss to the Florida Marlins. However, for those of you that missed it, the first pitch was thrown out by Misty May, the gold medal winning olympian. She must have literally returned from China. The interesting thing was that this is the first time that I had seen an opposing catcher receive the first pitch. Matt Treanor, the husband of Misty May was the catcher for the ceremonial first pitch.
Additionally, Senetor and Presidential Candidate John McCain also attended the game. The gentleman next to me seemed more interested in his security detail than what was going on on the field. Anyhow, despite the loss, a Sunday at the ballgame is always a great relaxing time.
One Old Fashioned Beating Disserves Another

The Diamondbacks went into their trip to Houston on a bit of a skid. A week ago I know that I was figuring the roster strategy in my head. It appears that the correct moves have been made since the loss of Upton. Needless to say, the word is still out on whether or not the moves are what are making the difference. But, two beatings and two grand slams in one game don’t hurt the cause.
Season Heating Up

Looks like things are heating up in the National League. With the Astros red hot, the only thing that help the D Bax besides a win is a loss for both the Dodgers and the Brewers. I know…. Brewers, not NL west. I am thinking long term playoff strategy here sports fans. Besides, they both can’t lose if they have a series playing each other.
Fast Game

Last night’s game was a quickie! Although Brandon Webb only struck out a couple of batters, he managed to pitch a complete game and lead the Diamondbacks to victory. I believe the game was an hour and 50 minutes long. It was a pretty good time. I am looking forward to the remainder of the season.
