Some convincing victories were earned Wednesday evening as the Arizona Fall League approaches its halfway point. Mesa, Phoenix and the Peoria Saguaros all achieved commanding victories as they finish up week four of Fall League action. For those of you that have had the opportunity to enjoy the state of Arizona for a while, you may remember when Phoenix, Mesa and Scottsdale were known as the Tri-City area. Desert Dogs Go Yard Seven Times

In their 16-7 victory over the Surprise Rafters, the Phoenix Desert Dogs brought their hot bats to the game Monday afternoon in Surprise. Nearly half of the runs generated can be attributed to the Colorado Rockies’ prospect Michael McKenry. The Dogs’ catcher nearly doubled his season’s RBIs in one game by hitting three home runs and driving in seven runs. Doolittle and Tolleson also contributed with home runs of their own at one a piece. Read more

Week Four of the AFL Kicks Off

Nearing the halfway point of the 2008 Arizona Fall League Season, this week looks to be another fun-filled week in Fall Ball. As the teams finished up week three with some spectacular play, they will be getting ready for the downhill stride in the last half of the season. As the weather finally seems to be cooling off substantially, the play will begin to heat up, since these talented players have limited time to make their impact felt. Read more
