Unbeatable Baxter Lifts Saguaros

October 9, 2008 by

Mike Baxter is striving for an outfield position with the San Diego Padres and his Wednesday performance won’t hurt him any. Baxter moved from single A Lake Elsinore to Double-A San Antonio this year proving to be a potential contributor to the San Diego Padres by flying through the minors to allow him to show his offense off at this year’s Arizona Fall League.

While the Saguaros have scored 19 runs in the last two days, four of those runs came as contributions from Mike. Baxter went 3 for 3 with 4 RBIs on Wednesday helping Peoria passed the Scottsdale Scorpions in an afternoon game that went 9 innings. Baxter is glad to be able to get more at bats this fall and we are looking forward to more contributions from him and players like him for the duration of the season.
