Peoria Sports Complex – Honoring Our Military

February 28, 2009 by

As most of you know, the Peoria Sports Complex is the Spring Training home of both the San Diego Padres and the Seattle Mariners. The Peoria Sports Complex puts on a pretty good show every game with classic rock piped through the speaker system before the game and in between innings as well as give away contests and free food from various eatery sponsors for random seat assignments on a given day.

This year, however, before the start of the 8th inning, the Peoria Sports Complex is now honoring our serving and veteran military men and women. During this between innings break in the action, military service men and women including veterans are asked to stand and be acknowledged by the crowd. They are then thanked by the Peoria Sports Complex, the City of Peoria, the San Diego Padres, the Seattle Mariners and the Sports Complex’s sponsors for their dedication and service to our country. This in between innings salute typically garners some of the loudest applause of the day from the fans!

Thank you Peoria Sports Complex for taking time out from our great American pastime to honor our troops and veterans.
