White Sox score 3 in the 9th to down Dodgers

March 1, 2009 by

teams_chwThe Chicago White Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers appeared on tape-delay today on the Major League Baseball Network. For those who stuck around to the end they witnessed a thrilling ending as the White Sox scored three in the top of the 9th to defeat the Dodgers 3-2. The White Sox survived four errors including two by veteran shortstop Wilson Betemit. White Sox middle infielder Gordon Beckham delivered a solo home run on a pinch-hit at-bat in the 9th. Beckham was the Sox first-round draft pick in 2008 and after an impressive Arizona Fall League he could compete for a job at second base during the 2009 season. The Dodgers bright spots may have been pitchers Hiroki Kuroda and Eric Milton pitching a scoreless four innings and allowing only one hit each.
