Five run second lifts Tribe past White Sox

March 9, 2009 by

teams_cleCleveland Indians outfielder Grady Sizemore got his second start of the spring at DH today and used the opportunity to drive in two runs on three hits and scored two times himself in the Tribes 9-3 pasting of the Chicago White Sox. Sizemore was just one of three Indians to accumulate three hits  on the day as catcher Victor Martinez and shortstop Andy Cannizaro each had three hits. Sox starter John Danks was hit hard in his two innings allowing eight hits and six runs in the loss. Indians starter Fausto Carmona went three innings allowing five hits and three earned runs in his three inning win. Sox second baseman Chris Getz hit a three run inside the park homer scoring the three runs Carmona allowed in the second.
