Rockies knock around A’s in 14-7 win

March 10, 2009 by

teams_colThe Oakland A’s jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead after the top of the first inning as Colorado Rockies left handed starting pitcher Jorge De La Rosa gave up four hits and three walks allowing five earned runs in only one third of an inning of work. A’s outfielder Matt Holliday, making his first start against his former club, went 2-for-3 with an RBI, but that was not nearly enough as Colorado would explode for five runs in the fourth inning and another five in the fifth inning. Rockies catcher Yorvit Torrealba went 2-for-3 with 2 doubles and four RBI’s in the Rockies win.
