March 13, 2009 by

teams_texTexas Rangers starter Brandon McCarthy pitched a near perfect four innings allowing only one hit and striking out three in in the Rangers 9-1 win over the Seattle Mariners. Mariners starter Jarrod Washburn looked much better than he did in his last outing, but still allowed five hits, two walks and three runs in his three inning loss. Rangers All-Star outfielder Josh Hamilton drove in one run off Washburn and went 2-for-4 in the win. Rangers right fielder Marlon Byrd went 2-for-2 with a walk and three runs batted in.
