March 14, 2009 by

teams_laaThe Los Angeles Angels pitching staff continued their great spring today against the Chicago Cubs. The Angels allowed four runs, all in the sixth inning off Matt Palmer, who ironically picked up the win for the Halos. Lefty Joe Saunders got things started on the mound for LA pitching four scoreless innings allowing three hits, one walk and recording one strike out. Besides Saunders and Palmer four other Angels pitchers pitched four shutout innings allowing only one hit between them. The Cubs allowed four runs in the seventh inning off Angel Guzman. Angels first baseman Matthew Brown drove in three runs on the day including the go ahead three run double off Guzman.
