Weaver hit hard again as A’s defeat Angels

March 15, 2009 by

teams_oakNomar Garciaparra lead off and played third base for the Oakland A’s today and took the third pitch he saw from Los Angeles Angels starter Jered Weaver and lined it hard for a single. Nomar would also add a double the next time he saw Weaver. While the Angles arms have looked great this spring, Weaver has had his problems and today went 2.1 innings allowing three earned runs on six hits and raised his ERA to 12.00 this spring. Oakland starter Brett Anderson pitched four scoreless innings allowing three hits. Oakland right fielder Jack Cust hit a solo home run in the 5th innings.
