March 18, 2009 by

teams_laaOnce again this spring the story of the day for the Los Angeles Angels was the effectiveness of their pitching staff as they held the Chicago White Sox to only one earned run which was scored in the ninth inning. Dustin Mosley got things started for the Angels going five innings and allowing no runs on four hits with four strikeouts. Thirdbaseman Chone Figgins hit a 2-run homer in the thrid inning to give the Angels a lead they would never surrender. Outfielder Gary Matthews Jr. also hit a dinger, his first spring, to add another run in the fourth. With the win the Angels moved their Cactus League best record to 15-4.
