teams_laaSo what is a more common sighting this spring, the Los Angeles Angels winning another game or Cha Seung Baek losing another game for the San Diego Padres. Today’s loss dropped Baek to 1-4 this spring and the win gave the Angels a 19-4-1 record this spring. Baek started strong retiring the first six men he faced in the first two innings including three with strikeouts before imploding over the next 1.2 innings and allowing nine earned runs on nine hits. Angels starter Joe Saunders was able to make it six innings allowing four runs on six hits. Saunders did allow a homer to Padres slugger Adrian Gonzalez who hit his first of the year in the first inning. Angels right fielder Gary Matthews Jr. continued to swing a hot bat going 2-for-3 with two runs batted in and two runs scored.
