Rangers and Mariners Tie it Up at Seven

March 24, 2009 by

In an exciting game in Peoria, the Mariners would gain the lead in the bottom of the third inning only to have Texas come back to tie in the top of the fourth. Seattle would answer back with a couple more runs as the Rangers played to catch up. Ken Griffey Jr. would have two RBIs for the Mariners which would help the team look like they had gained themselves a comfortable lead. That was, of course, until Texas right fielder Nelson Cruz hit a three run shot in the top of the seventh inning to pull the Rangers within one run. The Rangers would score again in the eighth to tie the game as the two teams end up deadlocked at seven.
