March 30, 2009 by

teams_oakThe Oakland Athletics scored seven runs in the first two innings which was enough to beat the Los Angeles Dodgers today. Nomar Garciaparra played first base today against his former club and went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer in the second inning off Dodgers starter Clayton Kershaw. A’s starter Brett Anderson allowed three runs in the first inning, but then settled down to hold the Dodgers scoreless over the next five innings. Former Diamondback turned Dodger Orlando Hudson continued his struggles this spring going 0-for-4 and dropping his average to .217.
