Arizona Topples Los Angeles

April 10, 2009 by

feat_dbacks_0008In an exciting matchup the Arizona Diamondbacks defeat the L.A. Dodgers by a score of 9 to 4. The Dodgers have been identified as the one team that will take the National League West over the D-backs but Arizona came through by earning the victory tonight. Arizona played exceptionally well as they proved that they are a force to be reckoned with in the NL West.

The Dodgers would begin the game with the lead by knocking in one run in the second inning. The one to nothing lead by the Dodgers would carry over into the third inning when the D-backs would score a total of five runs. Chris Young, who went three-for-three nearly hitting for the cycle, would hit a solo shot that would set the tone for the inning.

Conor Jackson would go two-for-five with three RBIs in the D-backs win as the player to contribute the most RBIs. Lopez would hit in two going two-for-four with a walk and Augie Ojeda would come in to drive in one run as well. Schoeneweis would come in and do an excellent job in middle relief as Chad Qualls would come in and get the save.

In all this was an excellent game for the D-backs as the key players would step up when needed. In a series that a in was deeply needed at this point by the team, Arizona would come through. The D-backs face the Dodgers for the second time this weekend in their black jerseys tomorrow as we home for similar results in a game that means tons to both the fans and the organization.
