Arizona was down early in the third game of their series against the Atlanta Braves and would come back with some late game excitement as they defeat the Tribe in extra innings. D-backs unable to rally

Arizona Diamondbacks starter Jon Garland had by far his worst outing of the year tonight as he allowed nine runs on nine hits in just 2.2 innings. Garland was roughed up for four runs in the second inning and five in the third. After falling behind the Atlanta Braves 10-1 the D-backs tried to fight back but the hole was to big.
Arizona was able to score three runs in the fourth inning with a home run by Chad Tracy. Gerardo Parra also had a good game going 3-for-5 with two runs batted in. Para is now 11-15 with RISP after he knocked in Miguel Montero from second on a single in the 7th making it 10-6. Despite playing in only 13 games for the D-backs this year, only Mark Reynolds has more hits this season with runners in scoring position than Para.
Daniel Schlereth, who was the first pick by the D-backs in last year’s draft, made his major league debut tonight and set down the side in order in the 6th inning.

D-backs Lose Final Game to Padres

One day after a close victory for the D-backs, the team loses the game and the series to the San Diego Padres. The Diamondbacks would be down early to the Friars, as the team would give up two runs in the first inning as a result of a two-run home run by Adrian Gonzalez. The Padres would score three more runs in the sixth inning to increase their lead before the D-backs would match those runs in the bottom of the same inning. Read more
