az_hardballThe Peoria Javelinas would travel to Phoenix to face the first place Desert Dogs at Phoenix Mini. The Javelinas would score first in the top of the second inning off of a one-run Jonathan Lucroy homerun. The Peoria bats would remain pretty quiet as the Desert Dogs were able to put up their first run in the seventh inning. In a big eighth inning, Peoria would manage to put four more runs on the board, adding a little insurance for the team. In the bottom of the eighth, Phoenix would gather three more runs but would not be enough to earn the lead as they lose the game by a run.

The Rafters would start the game with the lead by scoring three runs in the first inning. The team would maintain their lead for the majority of the game. In the fourth inning the Saguaros would pull within one off of an RBI triple and a ground out. Surprise would score two more runs in the top of the seventh, which would appear to be insurance runs. In the bottom of the eighth, the Saguaros would tie the game off of an RBI single and a two RBI ground-rule double. To end the game, in the bottom of the ninth, the game-winning run would score off of a Rafters’ fielding error as the Saguaros win by a run.
