Cubs score often in downing Athletics

March 4, 2010 by

Spring is here and the Cactus League is in full bloom. The Chicago Cubs scored a run in 6 of the 8 innings they came to the plate and ended up downing the Oakland A’s by a score of 9-3. Chicago’s bats were alive with 16 hits in the game and were matched by an equally strong performance from the mound. The Cubs arms allowed only three hits and three runs.

Chicago’s star first baseman Derrek Lee started out how he ended last year, hot. Lee went 2-for-3 with a homer. Oakland A’s second baseman Adam Rosales hit his first spring homer in the fifth inning.
