Rangers Rule Surprise

March 4, 2010 by

In a similar type of showdown to that in Peoria, the two teams that share the field in Surprise, Arizona faced each other in an afternoon matchup. The Royals would lead the game by scoring the first run in the bottom of the first inning of play. The Rangers would score four runs in the second inning, including a three-run shot by catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia.

The Rangers would never look back as they were able to contribute nine more runs for the remainder of the game with an additional homerun from first baseman Matthew Brown who was playing at the hot corner for this game. Texas DH, Mitch Moreland would go three-for-three with two RBI in the game as the Rangers topple the Royals by a score of 13 to 3.
