The Friars Return the Favor
March 5, 2010 by AZ Hardball
After being beat by the Mariners in their Thursday game, the San Diego Padres would strike back with a vengeance as they defeated the Seattle Mariners in Peoria. The Mariners would start with the lead in the second inning by scoring the first run. Going into the third, with the score one to nothing, the Padres’ bats answered with eight runs of their own.
Although no homeruns were hit in the game, the eight runs would be enough for the Padres to maintain the lead. Seattle would not score again for the remainder of the game and the Padres would score once more in the seventh, winning the game by a score of nine to three. Seattle prospect Dustin Ackley would walk once in his only appearance while San Diego pitching would quiet the Mariners for the final six innings.
