Giants Come Back to Punish D-backs

March 6, 2010 by

The Arizona Diamondbacks would start the game strong with some solid pitching by Edwin Jackson. One of the newest members of the D-backs pitching staff would throw for two innings, striking out two and allowing no earned runs. Gutierrez would also pitch well, striking out two while the D-backs would begin the game with the lead. In the fourth inning Arizona would manufacture four runs in what would look like a solid lead.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Giants would score two runs in what looked to be keeping the game close. Arizona would leave Bryan Augenstein in the game who would give up four more runs before replacing him with Kyler Newby would give up three more runs in that inning. The Giants would come back to win the game. Other performances of note included catcher Buster Posey playing a solid outing at first base for the Giants as they removed Aubrey Huff for missing a couple defensive plays. Not only would Posey do well on the bag, he would drive in a run in the San Francisco victory.
