San Fancisco downs Rockies in Scottsdale

March 6, 2010 by

San Francisco Giants starter Matt Cain did something most pitchers don’t do in their first start of the spring, come out to start the third inning. Cain finished three innings allowing one run to score on five hits. Rockies starter Jeff Francis, who missed last year because of an injury worked two innings and allowed four runs in his first start since 2008.

Giants star Benjie Molina went 3-for-3 on the day including a two-run homer in the third inning. Juan Uribe also added a homer for SF which helped down the Rockies split squad.
