Seattle’s Sweeney Seals the Win

March 6, 2010 by

The Seattle Mariners have been battling back and forth with the San Diego Padres for the last few spring training games as the two went head-to-head again today. Seattle would score first in the second inning as the Padres would gain the lead in the bottom of the second inning. As the game progressed, the Mariners would begin to chip away at the Padres pitching.

Designated hitter Mike Sweeney would four-for-four with three RBI and two runs scored as he helped lift hi steam past the Padres. The Friars would score two more runs in the fifth inning but it would not be enough as they drop the game to the Mariners by a score of seven to four.
