The Cleveland Indians traveled to Tucson to play the Arizona Diamondbacks and behind the back of center fielder Michael Brantley downed the home team by a score of 3-2. Brantley lead off the game with a triple and would add a double and single with an RBI and run scored falling a homer short of the cycle. Indians first baseman Andy Marte continued to look good early in the spring with a 1-for-2 outing.
D-backs starter Rodrigo Lopez who is challenging for the 5th starter spot started out rough with his triple to Brantley, but then allowed only one more hit and not walks while recording two strikeouts through two innings. Infielder Tony Abreu continued to produce this spring knocking in his third run of the Cactus League. While Brandon Allen did not record a hit he did record two walks and an RBI.
