Brewers Come Back to Beat the Cubs

March 9, 2010 by AZ Hardball

The Milwaukee Brewers traveled to Mesa today to face the Cubs. On an unusually cold and rainy day in Arizona, the rain let up enough just in time for the spring action to begin. The Cubs would get off to a good start scoring three runs in the first three innings while leaving the Brewers with no runs scored through three. In the fourth inning, the Brewers would score two runs to tighten the gap.

In the sixth inning, the Brew Crew would score another run to tie the game at three while Milwaukee pitching took over. The Cubs were allowed no more runs for the remainder of the game when in the top of the ninth inning the lead would favor the Brewers. With one on and two out outfielder Jody Gerut would hit a home run to give the Brewers the lead as they win the game by a score of five to three.
