Colorado shuts out Dodgers

In a rare spring occurrence the Colorado Rockies today shut out the Los Angeles Dodgers by a score of 12-0. Five Rockies took to the mound and combined allowed only three hits including a perfect 7th, 8th and 9th inning. Rockies starter Ubaldo Jimenez got things going not allowing a run in three innings while giving up threw three scoreless innings, giving up one hit and three walks while fanning two. Greg Smith would relieve Jimenez and pitch the next three innings allowing two hits, a walk and three strikeouts.Dodgers closer Jonathan Broxton made his spring debut going one inning allowing three hits and an earned run while striking out one.
Left fielder Seth Smith looked sharp going 3-for-4 with three RBIs. Colorado was able to get 16 hits and 12 runs with none coming the way of the long ball.
