Padres split-squad downs Brew Crew

March 10, 2010 by Dean

The San Diego Padres used only four pitchers in a split-squad match up against the Milwaukee Brewers, but it was all they needed as they downed the Brewers by a score of 5-4. The Padres jumped out to an early lead off Brewers Yovani Gallardo scoring three in the first inning. Gallardo would settle down pitching two more scoreless innings.

The big shot in the first was off the bat of right fielder Will Venable hit a three-run homer. The other offensive threat for the Padres in the game was third baseman Logan Forsythe who knocked in two runs on a double.
