Ethier and Blake homers lift Dodgers over Royals
March 11, 2010 by Dean
Los Angeles Dodgers starter James McDonald looked good after two scoreless innings, but should have stayed in the dugout. In the third inning the starter allowed the Kansas City Royals to score three runs highlighed by a Scott Podsednik homer. Russ Ortiz was not overly impressive in his one inning allowing two hits, but managed to record three strikouts in his scoreless inning.
Royals starter Gil Meche looked rusty in his two innings allowing seven hits and four earned runs including a homer to Andre Ethier. Dodgers third baseman Casey Blake went 2-for-3 on the day with two batted in and a homer in the fifth. The Royals are now 4-3 on the season while the Dodgers moved to 2-3-1.
