Davis sharp in Brewers win

March 17, 2010 by

Milwaukee Brewers second baseman Rickie Weeks lead off the game today against teh Cincinnati Reds with a homer run and the Brewers would never trail on their way to a 5-2 win.  Doug Davis continued to look good in his return to the Brewers going four scoreless innings with three hits and only one walk. When Davis can control his walks he is hard to beat. Aroldis Chapman, the Cuban pitcher for the Reds also continues to impress as he went three innings allowing only the homer to weeks. Chapman also struck out five while walking one.

Reds second baseman Wilkin Castillo was 2-for-2 with a triple and continues to make a strong case to make the team as a utility infielder. Brewer Adam Stern added a two-run homer in the seventh inning to break the game open. The Brewers moved to 10-6 on the spring while the Reds fell to 6-5-1.
