Giants Come Back to Beat Oakland

March 17, 2010 by

In the battle of the bay area teams on Wednesday, the Athletics would face the Giants at Phoenix Municipal Stadium. Oakland would take the lead in the first inning by scoring one run off of Barry Zito. Zito would pitch three and a third innings, striking out two while walking three and allowing one run for the game. In the remainder of the game, San Francisco pitching was solid, walking no more batters and striking out four more while keeping the A’s from scoring again.

In the top of the fifth, the Giants would score their first run to tie the game. The one run would be as a result of a solo homer by second baseman Juan Uribe. The Giants would go on to score three more runs in the seventh inning and two more in the ninth. Third baseman Ryan Rohlinger would have a great game as he would go two-for-two with two RBI. The Giants down the A’s by a score of six to one.
