Giants shut out Reds

March 20, 2010 by

The Cincinnati Reds would only use three pitchers on the day against the San Fransico Giants. Travis Wood would get the start and allow three runs on three hits and two walks including two homers. He would then be relieved by former ASU standout Mike Leake who allowed three runs on seven hits in innings. The Giants would send Todd Wellemeyer to the mound to start the game and he would last five innings allowing four hits in his shutout effort. SF would then send four relievers over the next four innings all who held the Reds hitless.

The Giants would get homers from Edgar Renteria and Aubrey Huff. Huff is now hitting .400 on the spring after his 1-for-2 day which also included a walk.
