San Francisco Scores Early to Hold Off Sox

The San Francisco Giants would visit Camelback Ranch to face the Chicago White Sox as the Giants would score early and often to begin the game. In the first four innings of play, the Giants would drive in a total of six runs as they were able to hold the Sox scoreless for those first four innings. Giants pitcher Matt Cain would pitch six and two thirds innings only allowing one run.

The White Sox would score their only run in the bottom of the fifth inning as their pitching staff took over for the remainder of the game. Chicago pitching was able to hold the Giants scoreless through the last five innings but were unable to score again. The San Francisco Giants would win the game by a score of six to one.
