D-backs snap streak with big outing

The bullpen has been a big issue for the Arizona Diamondbacks as of late, but Rodrigo Lopez found a way around that. Lopez went eight innings against the Atlanta Braves today allowing only one run on seven hits and lowering his ERA to 3.81. When Lopez was done manager A.J. Hinch turned to Carlos Rosa who was recently called up from AAA and Rosa easily put the Braves to rest with a 1-2-3 inning.

Justin Upton seems to be snapping out of his early season funk going 3-for-5 today after a 3-for-5 effort last yesterday. Upton is now hitting .316 over his last ten games over which time he has raised his batting average from .218 to .250. Upton got the D-backs on the board early with a first inning homer off Tommy Hanson.

Second baseman Kelly Johnson was among the league leader in homers in the month of April, but has only had one in his last ten games. Johnson snapped the streak today hitting his 11th homer of the year in the Arizona 5-run 9th inning. Also hitting a homer in the ninth was Stephen Drew.
