D-backs fall after snapping losing streak

May 16, 2010 by

After breaking a seven game losing streak last night, the Arizona Diamondbacks fell back to losing ways today falling to the Atlanta Braves by a 13-1 score. Atlanta starter Tim Hudson was dominant going eight innings allowing only one run on three hits and a walk. D-backs ace Dan Haren did not perform as well not even able to get out of the fifth inning. Haren allowed seven runs, six of them earned on eight hits.

Bob Howry’s days in Arizona may be coming to an end as the reliever allowed four runs on two hits and three walks without recording an out in the eighth inning. Howry has now allowed ten runs in the last 4.2 innings of work.

The D-backs bats were silenced by Hudson. The only run the D-backs managed to score was in the second inning when Chris Young grounded out scoring Adam LaRoche. Hudson has his highest strikeout total of the season fanning six. The D-backs struck out eight times on the day.
