The Padres would visit Goodyear, Arizona as they would face off with the Cleveland Indians. The Indians would get off to an early lead by driving in one run in the bottom of the first only to have the Padres answer back with a run of their own in the second inning. Things would be relatively quiet for both teams in the next couple of innings before the Indians would explode in the fourth. Read more

Padres split-squad downs Brew Crew

The San Diego Padres used only four pitchers in a split-squad match up against the Milwaukee Brewers, but it was all they needed as they downed the Brewers by a score of 5-4. The Padres jumped out to an early lead off Brewers Yovani Gallardo scoring three in the first inning. Gallardo would settle down pitching two more scoreless innings.
The big shot in the first was off the bat of right fielder Will Venable hit a three-run homer. The other offensive threat for the Padres in the game was third baseman Logan Forsythe who knocked in two runs on a double.
