The annual Fanster Phoenix Athlete of the Year poll is out. The annual poll is voted on by writers and contributors of the Phoenix sports community. Several Arizona baseball players made the list, including high school and college players.

Diamondbacks Go Green This Home Stand

feat_dbacks_0007The Arizona Diamondbacks will be using renewable energy for this homes tand against the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Philadelphia Phillies. The Diamondbacks are in the process of getting their building LEED certified by the U.S. Green building council. A LEED certification is granted to professionals, professional organizations and establishments exhibiting leadership in energy and engineering design.

Singles Cheer on Haren and the D-backs as They See a Shutout

feat_feat_0008Several Phoenix area singles attended the Friday event in which looked to be an excellent turnout. There were prizes raffled off to the attendees and tequila tasting at the event. Several singles mingled, shot pool and exchanged conversion. The fans did get a great chance to watch some excellent baseball as Dan Haren and the Arizona Diamondbacks shut out the Florida Marlins. The singles enjoyed themselves and meeting other in the Miller Light Diamond Club as the game progressed. Friday is Singles Night at Chase Field

Just in case you may have been out of the loop, Friday night is singles night at Chase Field. It makes for a great opportunity to meet and mingle with those with like interests and see some great baseball from a location that you may not otherwise get a chance to see the game. Devils fall to top seed Texas

The ASU Sundevils came out to the game against Texas in their retro uniforms from 1981 when they last won the College World Series, but were unable to have the same success tonight. ASU jumped out to a quick 6-0 lead after three innings and with their ace Mike Leake on the mound it looked like the Devils were getting ready to move one step closer to an appearance in the CWS finals.
