The Desert Dogs earn another win as they clobber the Peoria Javelinas by a score of 17 to 4. Grant Desme would have a pair of home runs in the game for the Desert Dogs as well as Baltimore prospect Brandon Snyder. Snyder would have himself a whopping seven RBI as Desme and Bell would have three a piece. For Peoria C.J. Retherford would have himself two RBI and Jordan Danks would hit the lone Peoria homerun. Reds’ Heisey Powers Saguaros to First AFL Win

The struggling Saguaros looked for their first AFL victory against the Phoenix Desert Dogs at Phoenix Municipal Stadium. The Reds’ Chris Heisey would go 3-for-4 at the plate, driving in three and crossing the plate twice. Heisey’s performance would help the Saguaros to stand tall against the Desert Dogs as things would look bleak for the Saguaros in the seventh inning. In the seventh, Phoenix would score eight runs to put the pressure on. In the top of the ninth, the Saguaros’ bats would come through as the team was able to score six more runs to take the lead and the game from the Phoenix Desert Dogs. Read more
Sizemore Drives in Four in Mesa Defeat

Detroit Tigers’ prospect Scott Sizemore drove in four runs for the Javelinas as Peoria beats the Solar Sox by a score of 8 to 1. Sizemore would go 3-for-4 with two doubles has he provides half of the runs for the team. Peoria pitching would hold the Solar Sox to only one as the Sox have some poor appearances at the plate. Solar Sox pitching would combine for a total of eight strikeouts to the Peoria three. Read more

The 2009 Arizona Fall League rosters have been released are are available for viewing on AZ Hardball at the following location: Teams and Rosters.
We are looking forward to another exciting year of Fall League action as there will be more stars including the first pick of the 2009 draft Stephen Strasburg. Strasburg will be playing for the Phoenix Desert Dogs this year as the team alignments have changed for 2009. The Desert Dogs will be playing to defend their reign as five-time AFL champions going for their sixth in a row. Read more
