Oakland Shuts Out Bay Area Neighbors

Oakland would get off to a jump-start on the Giants of San Francisco as the two teams played at AT&T Park. In the first inning Kurt Suzuki would hit a two-run shot off of Barry Zito. Oakland would score two more in the third inning as the Giants would be unable to put any runs up on the board. Blanks’ Sixth Inning Blast Gives Padres the Edge

The Angels would start off the game at Angel Stadium on the right foot as they were able to score the first run of the game for the team. The Padres would answer back in the following inning with a run of their own. In the fourth inning, the Padres would score one run to take the lead of the game. In the sixth inning Kyle Blanks would hit a three-run homer that would give the Padres some added insurance. Read more
Dodgers Start Strong But End Quietly

The Los Angeles Dodgers looked to do some damage in one of their final games leading up to Opening Day as they faced the Indians at Dodger Stadium. The Dodgers would score first in the second inning with two runs to lead the Cleveland Indians. Dodgers’ pitching would keep the game scoreless through four as the Indians would score their first run in the fifth inning off of a Grady Sizemore solo home run. Read more
D-backs Split Squad Holds Off Royals

The Diamondbacks would send their split squad team to Surprise to face the Kansas City Royals in one of the final games of spring training. Both teams would go scoreless through three before Gerardo Parra would hit a two-run blast in the fourth inning with two men out. The Royals would answer back with a run of their own in that inning and would follow it up with a two run fifth. Read more
White Sox Take Early Lead to Defeat Seattle

The White Sox would get off to an early lead as they would score three runs in the first inning. In the third inning both runs scored would come off of a tow-run homer by Chicago first baseman Jim Gallagher. The Sox would score again in the fourth and sixth innings as the Mariners would continue to be silenced at the plate. Read more
