Challenging Sixth Downs the D-backs

The Arizona Diamondbacks faced the Florida Marlins for game two of the two game series. The afternoon game would begin with both teams scoreless after three innings of play. In the bottom of the fourth inning, the Marlins would begin scoring in the bottom of the fourth inning as a run would cross the plate on a couple of hit batsmen by Buckner. In the following inning Dan Uggla would score on a Jorge Cantu double on a fly ball to center field. In the meantime, the Diamondbacks’ bats would remain silent as the Marlins continued to score.

Edwin Jackson Baffles Marlins

The Arizona Diamondbacks looked to recover from a horrible drought of a week the week prior as they faced the Florida Marlins. The game was expected to be a tough one as the Marlins had come into the game in second place in the National League East. The Marlins, who have been known for their pitching would send Volstad to face Edwin Jackson. Jackson would come into the game with a one and five record, looking to make a statement for the Diamondbacks. Edwin Jackson did just that.

D-backs Split Series with Sunday Loss

Florida would start the game with a bang, knocking in three runs in the first inning. The D-backs were unable to get anything going offensively as they tried to help earn another win for Doug Davis. Haren Baffles Marlins Throws Complete Game Shutout

feat_dbacks_0015Coming into the game with an 8 and 5 record, Dan Haren would remind the Marlins why he has been selected as an All-Star for the Arizona Diamondbacks. Haren would go the distance, allowing no runs on singles night at Chase Field. Haren’s performance was shadowed by all of the spectacular play in the MLB on Friday night, including a no hitter by the San Francisco Giants’ Jonathan Sanchez. Not to be ignored, Friday’s game was an excellent revitalization to the team as they bounce back from a disturbing loss one day prior. Read more

D-backs Pummeled in Eighth Inning

feat_dbacks_0011In what looked to be another victory for the Arizona Diamondbacks against the Florida Marlins vanished in the eighth inning when the Marlins scored ten runs in the catastrophic inning. The Diamondbacks were able to score seven runs in the first five innings of play while holding the Marlins to no runs through five. Yusmeiro Petit would throw some quality innings before giving up three runs in the beginning of the sixth inning. Read more
