The Arizona Diamondbacks would come off of a tough loss against one of the better teams in the Majors from a day prior. In Sunday’s game, the score would be in Philadelphia’s favor at the beginning of the game. The Phillies would score two runs in the first inning and carry the lead through to the fifth where they would add one more run to the score, leading the D-backs by a score of three to nothing. The Phillies are a solid contender in the National League East and would face the D-backs in what would seem to be an uneven matchup on paper. The Philadelphia Phillies Jamie Moyer delivered a stellar outing as he fans five D-backs and allows no earned runs in the victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks. Jason Donald of Phillies Wins Stenson Award

The Arizona Fall League’s 2008 Stenson Award was awarded to Jason Donald of the Philadelphia Phillies Wednesday evening. The Stenson Award is given to the Arizona Fall League player who most exhibits unselfishness, hard work and leadership. The award is named after the Cincinnati Reds’ prospect that was killed in a carjacking incident on November 5th, 2003. Darnell Stenson was playing for the Scottsdale Scorpions at the time and exhibited all-round leadership on and off the field. Read more
