The White Sox would get off to an early lead as they would score three runs in the first inning. In the third inning both runs scored would come off of a tow-run homer by Chicago first baseman Jim Gallagher. The Sox would score again in the fourth and sixth innings as the Mariners would continue to be silenced at the plate.
Seattle would score their first two runs of the game in the seventh inning as designated hitter Carlos Peguero would hit a two-run homer off of Lowe. For the Sox, pitchers Elarton and Zaleski would combine for a total of six scoreless innings. In the eighth, Chicago catcher Cole Armstrong would hit a two-run shot of his on with two outs. Chicago goes on to win it by a score of nine to four.

The Seattle Mariners starter David Pauley allowed six runs on 11 hits and a walk in just four innings of work against the Texas Rangers. The Rangers sent Rich Harden to the mound and he lasted 4.2 innings allowing four runs on eight hits.
The Rangers 2-3-4 hitters continued to have an impressive spring with Michael Young, Josh Hamilton and Vladamir Guerrero going 7-15 today. Guerrero is now hitting .333 this spring and both Hamilton and Young are hitting over .400. Milton Bradley has continued to show the Mariners fans why he has been named the cleanup hitter for the team going 3-for-3 on the day with a run scored.
]]>Seattle Mariners sent Jason Vargas to the mound to start against the Oakland Athletics and Vargas lasted five innings allowing two runs on four hits and four walks. The Mariners bullpen would be the story the rest of the way allowing just three hits and one walk over the next four shutout innings. A’s starter Gio Gonzalez was strong allowing only one run on three hits while walking three in his 6.1 innings.
A’s center fielder and leadoff man Coco Crisp went 2-for-4 on the day raising his average to .414. Crisp made his hits count too with a double and homer. Seattle scored it’s first run on a wild pitch and then would score their other two on solo homers by Franklin Gutierrez and Josh Bard.

The Chicago Cubs starter Ryan Dempster looked like the number two starter he will be this year on the mound today, then again the Seattle Mariners lineup this year could do that to a lot of pitchers. The Mariners managed only four hits and two walks on the day while striking out ten times. The Mariners starter Ryan Rowland-Smith pitched well enough to win lasting seven innings allowing one run on five hits while striking out four.
Mariners first baseman Casey Kotchman doubled and had a single going 2-for-3 on the day. The lone run in the game came off a sacrafice fly by Kosuke Fukudome.

The Los Angeles Dodgers faced the Seattle Mariners at their spring home today as spring training begins winding down. The Dodgers scored first in the second inning with two runs crossing the plate. In the third inning of play, outfielder Andre Ethier would hit a solo homer to extend the Dodger lead to three.
Los Angeles pitcher Charlie Haeger would throw five and a third innings of shutout baseball as he would only allow two hits and throw five strikeouts in the game. The Mariners would remain scoreless through eight innings, until they would score one run in the ninth off of a home run by outfielder Matt Tuiasosopo. The Dodgers hang on to win by a score of three to one.
]]>Ken Griffey Jr. came to the plate in the ninth inning facing the Cincinnati Reds, the team he played for in the stint between his stays with Seattle, and with one swing of the bat Junior made a 5-2 game a 6-5 win for the Mariners. The slam was the first homer of the spring for Junior.
The homer overshadowed a very good start by former ASU standout Mike Leake. Leake made his first start of the spring for the Reds and showed why he was worthy of the first round pick in the summer of 2009. Leake lasted four innings allowing only one run on three hits and one walk. Joey Votto got the start in the DH spot for the Reds and went 3-for-4 with a homer and three RBIs.

Kansas City Royals starter Edgar Osauna started the game and allowed four runs on five hits and two walks including a homer to Seattle Mariner Mike Sweeney in the third inning. Mariners sent Shawn Kelley to the mound to start and the right hander lasted 2.2 innings allowing the runs on three hits. Mariners leadoff man Franklin Gutierrez would add another homer in the fourth going 3-for-3 with two runs scored and 3 RBIs on the day.
The Mariners took a 7-3 lead into the ninth inning before Chad Cordero and Wes Littleton would blow the lead allowing five runs. Royals second baseman would puck up a two run triple off Cordero.

The two American league teams would square off at Goodyear Ballpark as the Indians would get a quick lead in the bottom of the first inning. The Mariners would be able to come back to tie the game as a result of a solo homer by Seattle shortstop Jack Wilson in the inning.
Cleveland would add to the score in the fifth and sixth innings adding two runs to the score. Indians’ pitching would combine for five strikeouts and eight scoreless innings pitched as Joe Smith gets the win. The Mariners would fall to the Indians by a score of one to three.

The Mariners and Padres would face each other in Peoria as the two teams would remain scoreless through the first three innings of play. Seattle would be the first of the two teams to get on the board as they were able to drive in a run in the top of the fourth inning. Seattle’s Jason Vargas would pitch well as he would throw five scoreless innings, striking out four.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, the Padres would drive in two runs to take the lead from the Mariners. The two runs scored would prove to be enough to take both the lead and the game as the San Diego Padres defeat the Seattle Mariners by a score of two to one.
]]>Los Angeles Angels starter Garret Richards only lasted 2/3 of an inning today and was lucky to escape with only one run scored against him. Richards walked three Seattle Mariners batters and allowed one hit before leaving with bases loaded. Eddie McKiernan would come out and get the Angels out of the inning with only one run scored. Mariners starter Ryan Rowland-Smith lasted five innings, but allowed two to score in the second, one in the third and another one in the fourth.
Mariners center fielder Franklin Gutierrez has been brilliant in the field this spring but has struggled at the plate. Gutierrez did go 2-for-3 with two batted in today. Third baseman Jose Lopez hit his first homer of the spring today in the 6-4 win. The Mariners moved to 8-11 while the Angels continued to struggle and fell to 5-12.
